Eventually the humans were forced to leave the Earth.
Their goal to search for new planets to inhabit...

Congratulations.
On this scale this is
one hundredth of the distance
to the Alpha Centauri star system
and planets like Earth are likely to be very rare.
So the chances are we are stuck with what we got!
